VOLKSWAGEN POLO CUP SOUTH AFRICA, 20.09.2014
Sheldon van der Linde, who is just 15 years old, delivered another convincing performance in the Engen Volkswagen Cup South Africa in Killarney and has extended his overall lead. In a thrilling first race, van der Linde finished third, trailing the winner Daniel Rowe by 0.391 seconds. Sheldon, who is the younger brother of Kelvin van der Linde who competes in the ADAC GT Masters, then won the second race with a 3.626-second lead over Dewald Brummer, who had already come second in the first race.
Sheldon van der Linde was therefore the weekend’s best driver overall. The championship will be decided in a three-way battle between van der Linde, Brummer and Rowe in the season final in Zwartkops on 1 November.
